Sierra Espuña is one of the most important mountain ranges in the region of Murcia, it is protected as a Regional Park and also as a special protection area for birds (ZEPA) and a place of community importance (LIC). However, the highest peak in the region is the Revolcadores Massif, with 2015m high, and which is located at the western end of the municipality of Moratalla. Also noteworthy are the Sierra de Carrascoy, named for its Carrasco pine vegetation and El Valle.

There are numerous routes of various degrees of difficulty where you can go hiking or mountain biking. Likewise, Murcia is a privileged region to practice climbing. Due to its climate, this sport can be practiced outdoors throughout the year. There are numerous locations, some just 15 minutes from the center of the city of Murcia, which provide the possibility of finding from simple and short routes, to very complex routes and with a fairly high technical difficulty. For this reason, they are suitable for all types of climbers.
